BMI Songwriters Circle

Any opportunity we have at Luck to put great writers together on a stage is a good one. And with BMI at the helm, it's a great one. This year, they curated the BMI Songwriters Circle which took place on the Revival Tent Stage...and we walked away with some new favorite songs from immensely talented singer-songwriters hailing from Austin to Idaho.

Celebrating a year of success with his debut solo EP, "Wildflowers & Tears", Austin's own Coleman Jennings has a vibrato that is hard to describe, but easy to listen to. His lyrics are inquisitive and thoughtful, and he led with such candor on the stage at Luck.

Arkansas native JD Clayton showcased his no-pretense style of songwriting, and a brand new crop of songs fresh from his new album - "Blue Sky Sundays". Clayton is a self-proclaimed lover of 70s era country, and not shy to show it - though his music is all his own.

Idaho singer-songwriter Valley James packed a punch with heavy lyrics of hope and redemption from her latest project, "Star". This isn't the first badass woman we've had at Luck who sold her wedding ring to keep making music (lookin' at you, Margo).

In summary, BMI put together a trio of artists we can't stop listening to, and hope to see on the stage again. Collaborative moments like the Songwriters Circle brings is really how Luck kicked off, and what will ultimately keep it kicking. Thanks for listening.
